As a kid I loved playing Graphic Adventures, especially those by LucasArts. Day of the Tentacle (or DOTT for short) was the sequel to Maniac Mansion and was the first "Talkie" game I played (this was the first game to have speech throughout which seems like a bizarre thing to mention in todays world, but back then it was a big deal!)

For those that don't know, the main characters, Bernard, Hoagie and Laverne used the Chron-o-John to travel through time to prevent the evil Purple Tentacle from manipulating time to control the world! As you can probably guess, it was a very surreal and funny game!

This one was just begging to be animated!

Yeah sure; as long as you put a link to www.CoolSurface.com and credit me "David Cousens" somewhere on the page that's fine. :)

I think DOTT was the only Lucasarts point and click I ever finished (actually i might have been the only point and click I completed at all)

I completed these things almost religiously. DOTT, Sam & Max, the Monkey Island series (even the disappointing #4)Full Throttle...well, you get the idea! I'd love to have that much free time again!

Leaping labrats, this is awesome D: Awesome job there! I love your colouring and line art style and you really captured the moment in the game, heh. It's awesome to see fan art of this :3

I really have to play this game again soon XD It was such a fun game. I remember being particularly excited about the fact that this game had speech in it. Was never keen on Maniac Mansion though XD It freaked me out D: Lucasarts' graphic adventure games were amongst the first games I played. As a child of 4, I sat with my dad watching him play The Secret of Monkey Island and LeChuck's Revenge XD I love all the cross references and in jokes in Lucasarts games XD Gyaaah, your pictures. They make me happy :3

You and I have a lot in common gmae-wise. I'm not really fussed with Maniac Mansion (I don't like graphic adventure games where you can lose!) but DOTT was great fun. Can you remember they made a huge deal with the speech on the packaging; I always insisted on getting the "Talkie" versions!

Pleased to see you're noticing all of the little references and in jokes in my work. I hope you have a fantastic day. :D
